We are the only registered charity dedicated to supporting patient care across West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It is thanks to generous supporters like you, that patients in our three hospitals – Hemel Hempstead, St Albans City and Watford General – can receive a level of care beyond what would be possible with NHS funding alone.
Charitable support like yours helps to fund the latest technology, environmental enhancements, staff development and extra comforts that make a big difference to patients, day after day.
Thank you for showing your support by fundraising for us.
A partnership with us could help you to:
There are lots of types of corporate partnerships, from Charity of the Year relationships through to one-off sponsorships for events. Read on to find something that appeals to you.
Sponsoring one of our events is a great way to get involved, make a difference and raise your company’s profile.
Our Stars of Herts awards ceremony is one example. You can sponsor this special staff recognition event and show that your company shares the same values and standards of excellence as our doctors, nurses and the professionals who work alongside them.
We run a number of appeals to help fund the latest technology, environmental enhancements, staff development and extra comforts that make such a difference to patients, day after day.
By making a corporate donation, you can help transform care in our hospitals.

Choose us as your Charity of the Year and we will work with you to create a calendar of activities to inspire, motivate and develop your workforce, offering the very best in partnership management.
Encourage colleagues to team up and take on one of our challenges. Or choose a challenge of your own. Ask your suppliers, customers and competitors to either join in or sponsor you.
Our challenges and fundraising events can be found here
Challenge events aren’t for everyone, so perhaps your colleagues would like to take part in the annual NHS Big Tea or organise something of their own.

Payroll giving, also known as Give as You Earn, is an easy way that individual employees can make a regular donation. With payroll giving, they can donate straight from their gross salary giving immediate tax relief on their donations. Anyone who pays UK tax through PAYE can donate through payroll giving.
We already work with payroll giving platform, Benevity, but are happy to work with others if you already subscribe.
Playing our lottery is a fun and exciting way to improve the lives of patients and staff in West Herts and beyond, and players could be in with a chance to win amazing prizes. Tickets are just £1 a week! Find out more about our lottery here
Would you colleagues like to help with gifts? With our TLC Appeal, for example, we are creating welcome packs for patients who are rushed in to hospital and have no family to help out. Alternatively, perhaps your teams would like to help with our Raise a Smile this Christmas appeal, ensuring everyone in our hospital has a gift to open during the festive season.
Bowmer & Kirkland helped spread festive cheer in December 2024 by supporting our Christmas Smiles Appeal with a generous gift drive. This year, their fantastic team also took on the St Albans Inflatable 5k, bouncing, climbing and laughing their way through the course – all to support our charity.
GSCI, one of our valued Trust contractors, have gone above and beyond in their support of our charity. From sponsoring the annual Stars of Herts NHS Staff Awards to taking on an adrenaline-fuelled abseil in 2023, they’ve shown incredible dedication. Most recently, the team completed two skydives across 2024 and 2025 – a true leap of generosity.
Mercer & Hole adopted us as their Charity of the Year and staff held a number of fundraising activities including bake sales and this Halloween dress up extravaganza.
The parents’ snack station in the neonatal unit at Watford General was wholly replenished after a fantastic £500 donation from Bellway North London. The snack station was created to provide food and drinks for parents who are not able to bring food with them when their baby is admitted to the neonatal unit.
On behalf of all our patients, families and staff, we thank you for choosing to support us. Your help will mean that patients can receive the very best care, over and above what would be possible with NHS funding alone.
No matter how you are raising or donating money, we will help you every step of the way, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
You truly are helping to support excellent patient care for all.
