West Hertfordshire Hospital Charity (‘the Charity’) is a Registered Charity (charity number 1052210). The West Herts NHS Trust acts as sole corporate Trustee of the Charity under declaration of Trust 12/12/1995 as amended on 01 Apr 2022.
The Charity has a Charity Committee which is a subcommittee of the NHS Trust Board and has its own policies and procedures and an independent examination/audit of accounts. Many of the policies are adopted from those of the NHS Trust. All staff are employed by the Trust. It benefits from the statutory concessions available to charities (e.g., various forms of tax relief). Ultimately The NHS Trust Board, the Corporate Trustee, is responsible for all donations made to the Charity for charitable purposes and is accountable to the Charity Commission and other regulatory bodies for their management and use.
The trading name of the Charity is West Herts Hospitals Charity.
