South and West Hertfordshire Anchor Community Small Grants Programme

South & West Herts Anchor Programme

Funding of £500 to £10,000 is available for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations and groups supporting people living with cancer, long term conditions and/or frailty across South and West Hertfordshire.

A long term condition is a health condition that usually needs ongoing care or support, such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory conditions or arthritis.

Frailty is when a person may have reduced strength or resilience and need more support with their health, wellbeing or day to day life. It does not simply mean weakness or old age.

The grants support community led activity that helps people access support earlier, stay connected, manage their health and wider needs, and have their voices heard.

Two funding routes

Community Insight and Engagement Grants

£500 to £2,500

For community conversations, outreach, lived experience involvement, co design and testing small community led ideas.

Community Capacity and Service Delivery Grants

£2,500 to £10,000

For testing, developing or extending practical community support. This can include delivery costs, training, volunteer support, outreach, partnership working, and removing barriers such as transport, translation or accessibility needs.

Who can apply?

Voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations and groups can apply. This includes small, grassroots and volunteer led groups. You do not need to identify as a health organisation. Unconstituted groups can apply through an eligible organisation that can hold and manage the funding. We can help you explore this.

Join an online information session

We are holding three online information sessions for organisations and groups interested in applying. You can hear more about the grants, ask questions and discuss whether your idea may be suitable.

Monday 28th September 2026, 3pm to 4pm

Tuesday 20th October 2026, 1pm to 2pm

Thursday 19th November 2026, 1pm to 2pm

Before applying

You can start by sending a short summary of your idea in 50 words, explaining who it is for and what you hope will change. The Anchor Programme Coordinator will then help you check whether the idea fits the fund and support you with an application.

Pre application support is guidance only and does not guarantee funding. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis while funding remains available. We reserve the right to close applications early if the available funding has been allocated. Any closure will be announced on this webpage.

For support or to discuss an idea, contact Maria Tanko, Anchor Programme Coordinator
