An evening of friendly competition at The Three Crowns on Bushey High Street, on Tuesday 12 May 2026 has raised an impressive £650.00 for our Caring for Generations appeal.
The popular Bushey pub was filled with high spirits as 17 teams, comprising 69 competitors, gathered to test their knowledge. Amongst the crowd were two teams representing our charity, all coming together to raise vital funds for West Herts Hospitals.
A closely fought battle
The evening featured a general knowledge quiz that kept everyone on their toes. Competition at the top of the leaderboard was incredibly fierce, with only a couple of points separating the top three teams by the final round.
Ultimately, it was a team of local regulars who clinched the top spot. However, there was a spirited internal rivalry from our charity staff teams – The Bedpans and The Banots. In the end, internal bragging rights went to The Bedpans, who managed to beat The Banots by just a single point.
Generous support boosts total
Whilst the winners took home the ultimate prize of intellectual glory, the real success of the night was the generosity of the local community; through entry fees and a raffle, the final fundraising total reached £650.00.
Every penny raised will go directly into the Caring for Generations appeal, which aims to fund four key projects that will transform care for thousands of patients at West Herts Hospitals.
Beyond the fundraising success, the night served as a team-bonding experience for our staff and an opportunity to connect with supporters in the Bushey area. Thank you to the team at The Three Crowns for their wonderful hospitality and generosity, and to everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, and made the evening such a success.
