Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural Charity Golf Day at Sandy Lodge Golf Club on Thursday 18 June 2026. Together, we raised an incredible £14,000!
The funds will go directly toward supporting vulnerable patients across West Herts Hospitals.

“We are thrilled by the success of our first Charity Golf Day and want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took part, from our main event sponsors to the local businesses and individuals who joined us on the course, and to the generous businesses who donated great prizes for the raffle. Raising over £14,000 is a fantastic achievement, and it was wonderful to see our local supporters, corporate partners, and special guests like the Lord-Lieutenant come together with such enthusiasm.
These funds will make a difference to vulnerable patients across West Herts Hospitals. In particular, the money will directly support our Caring for Generations Appeal, helping to fund vital projects such as the specialist activities space on Oxhey Ward to provide comfort and stimulation for patients living with dementia. We are very grateful for the generosity shown through the tournament, raffle, and auction, which will help us continue to care for generations to come.”
Supporting the Caring for Generations Appeal
The money raised will support the Caring for Generations Appeal, an initiative that finances projects extending beyond core NHS resources. To learn more about the appeal, you can read the event brochure here.
Among the main projects that this appeal aims to fund is a specialist activities space on Oxhey Ward. This dedicated area is designed for patients living with dementia, helping to provide comfort and stimulation during their hospital stay.
The day brought together local supporters and corporate partners on the greens, all working toward the same fundraising goal. Special guests included The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ.
A fantastic tournament layout was made possible by support from local businesses. Teams from M. K. Ginder & Sons Funeral Directors, Logan Construction, Sir Robert McAlpine, BDP, Vinci Buildings, Arcadis, and Kier all took to the course to compete and show their support.
The smooth running and success of the event relied heavily on the generosity of our corporate sponsors, suppliers, and partners. Special thanks go to our main event sponsors: Health Services Laboratories, Barchester Healthcare, Capsticks LLP, and UHY Hacker Young. Raffle and Auction
The final fundraising total received a significant boost at the end of the day through a raffle and a charity auction. Thank you to The Grove Hotel and PGA Golfer Matt Wallace for donating spectacular, highly sought-after prizes that tempted our bidders.
Whether you played in a team, sponsored a hole, bid in the auction, or donated a prize, your support directly benefits West Herts Hospitals. Thank you for making the day such a success and helping us care for generations to come.
